Xi Luo Cold Noodles
Focused on homestyle flavors, their cold noodles come with rich sesame sauce and two kinds of pickled radish, leaning towards a savory taste. Besides cold noodles, they also serve cold rice noodles, Holland noodles, and various marinated dishes, offering a wide variety. The noodles are a bit thicker than usual, perfect if you love a chewy bite.
Shuiku Xieji
This place truly represents the Changsha flavor with generous portions of cold noodles, shaved cold rice noodles, and cold rice cakes at great prices. They claim to use local catfish, which gives it a special fresh taste.
Xiao Lizzi Cold Noodles
They only serve 200 bowls a day, a typical “limited edition” spot. The owner’s enthusiasm makes the experience very enjoyable, and the shaved cold rice noodles are top-notch. Don’t miss their marinated eggs; the marinated dishes here are a step up from usual cold noodle shops and definitely worth the detour.
Qiao Bo Cold Noodles
This shop focuses solely on cold noodles, with no cold rice noodles or cold rice cakes. They use thin noodles with thick sesame sauce and pickled radish, and the aroma hits you as soon as it arrives at your table—no coriander included.
Luo Ge Cold Noodles
An old-school cold noodle shop, certified Changsha style. Most customers are local regulars, and the atmosphere is full of nostalgia, making you feel like you’re back in the summer days of old Changsha.
South China Snacks
This place offers highly affordable, authentic Changsha snacks. Their cold noodles and cold rice noodles each cost less than 3 yuan, so you can easily have a meal for just 10 yuan. Perfect for students or tourists on a budget.
Zhao Hua Snacks
A nice down-to-earth snack shop in a trendy area. Both their cold noodles and shaved cold rice noodles are worth recommending, with no huge lines like at other popular spots. Plus, their fried skewers (a Changsha specialty) leave you wanting more.
Wang Dia Shaved Cold Rice Noodles
Their star dish is the shaved cold rice noodles, which are more distinctive than cold noodles, made fresh to order. It’s located in the alley of Taiping Street—be ready to wait in line, but the popularity speaks for its worth.
Wu Dia Shaved Cold Rice Noodles
A small cart that’s clean, run by two generations. While their cold noodles are just okay, the shaved cold rice noodles are a highlight, refreshing for the hot weather.
Tongpu Street Yangji
This stall right outside Tongpu Primary School operates almost all day, attracting a steady stream of customers. Many local students have great childhood memories tied to this place, so it’s a mix of nostalgia and affordability.
